The location of the Dubuque Iowa Army Reserve hasn't changed, but in the future, it will now have a new name. The United States Army on Sunday officially renamed its army reserve center after Dubuque native Ronald D Rennison.

Rennison first joined the U.S. Army in 1987, serving as an 88M motor transport operator in South Korea before being assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division with missions in Hondurans and Egypt.  He was later assigned to the 14th Quartermaster Detachment after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

For his service, Rennison was awarded the Purple Heart, Army Achievement Award, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Overseas Service Medar.  He also received the Kuwait Liberation Medal from the Government of Saudi Arabia.

While serving in Saudi Arabia, Rennison was killed by a Scud Missle launched by the Iraqi military on February 25, 1991.  26 others were also killed in that attack and close to 100 others were injured.

Members of Rennison's family were present on Sunday to observe the honor.
