The Carnegie-Stout Public Library is offering a free food pantry over the holiday season for anyone in need. The pantry is available now through Dec. 30, 2021, during regular library hours.
Registration is now open for the 2022 Ice Golf Classic on February 12, St. Mark's Community Center will welcome teams in wacky costumes, with fun sleds to the frozen Mid-Town Marina in East Dubuque for the organization’s “coolest” fundraising event of 2022. Teams can sign up foursomes for a fun and competitive 18 holes of Ice Golf at www.stmarkyouthenrichment.org/icegolf or by calling 563.582.6211 ext. 102.

Hillcrest Family Services, based in Dubuque, and Unity Point Health – AbbeHealth Services, based in Cedar Rapids, are offering free brain health coaching sessions for adults and children of any age. The sessions can be scheduled now and will run until June 30. Funded by CARES Act grant monies, the free sessions are offered to residents in nine eastern Iowa counties:  Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Johnson, Jones and Linn counties. Caregiver Support Group for Caregivers of Dementia Patients/Family Members

24-Hour Care and Oak Park Place host a Caregiver Support group for caregivers taking care of Dementia Patients/family members conducted by trained facilitators. Join them virtually the last Friday of each month at 1:00pm. Contact Sara Kirkpatrick or Nicole Karberg for log in information.

Project Recovery Wisconsin.

Are you feeling stressed or anxious because of the pandemic?  Many farmers and farmworkers are experiencing the same feelings of exhaustion, irritability, anger, sleeplessness, and worry. St. John’s Episcopal Church will host a Christmas Cookie Walk from 8am till 2pm at their parish house at 1458 Locust Street. They will also have candies, cakes, breads, baklava plus Christmas décor and gift Items. A soup lunch will be available.

KC Council 510 is hosting a Special Fundraiser for the blue lighted Centennial Cross in Key West from 5-7:30pm, at the Joliet Event Center, 781 Locust, Dubuque. Poor Man's Catering has generously donated an awesome Beef Tips and Homemade Noodles Dinner. Cost is $10. Ron Lubbers will be providing some Dinner Music for your entertainment.  RSVPs are REQUIRED.  CALL to RESERVE A MEAL and ARRIVAL TIME, by calling the Joliet Event Center at 563.588.2011.

 

The Friends of the Dubuque County Library will hold a Gift Wrapping Fundraiser from 10am till 2pm at the Asbury Branch located at 5290 Grand Meadow Drive. (Also Sat Dec. 18th 10:00am to 2;00pm)

Lollipops & Music for Our Preschoolers is a free monthly concert series that exposes children to a variety of musical styles and instruments. Children leave with a greater appreciation of music and a lollipop! Today: David Landau- Children’s Entertainer. Program is 10am till 10:30am.

Wednesday, December 15

This special community service from 6:30pm till 7:30pm  at St Luke’s United Methodist Church, 1199 Main.  Participating Clergy from First Presbyterian, First Congregational UCC, Holy Trinity ELCA, St. John’s Episcopal, and St. Luke’s UMC.
