November is National Hospice Month, a time to celebrate the kind of care that helps patients and family caregivers find comfort, love and respect when it is needed most. Since 1983, Hospice of Dubuque has fulfilled a mission of providing compassionate care for the terminally ill and their loved ones in your hometown.

Friday November 22nd

The Dubuque Senior Rams Booster Club is hosting its Annual Fall Auction & Bake Sale from 6pm till 9pm at Happy’s Place, 2323 Rockdale Rd. Turkey & Dressing and Pork Sandwiches, Bake Sale, 50/50 Raffle, RAM Raffle & RAMS apparel for sale. Silent auction beginning at 6 pm with online bidding, Live Auction at 7:30. Supporting Dubuque Senior High School academics, arts and athletics. (More info: facebook.com/events/701188653578780/)

Saturday November 23rd

Sherrill United Methodist Church will hold their 66 annual Lord’s Acre Auction Sale inside the Kehl Center at Albrecht Acres located at 14837 Sherrill Road. Lunch will be served at 4:30pm and the sale time is 6:00pm

The Texas Tenors will perform a special Christmas concert, “Deep in the Heart of Christmas,” accompanied by the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra at the University of Dubuque Heritage Center. showtime is 7:30pm. Sunday November 24th

St. Joseph’s Church in Farley will hold a Breakfast in the parish basement from 7:30am till Noon. The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, fresh & smoked sausage, hash browns and more. The price is $8 for adults and 44 for kids ages 5 to 12. There will also be a raffle, silent auction, bake sale and canned beef for sale.

All kindergarten and first grade girls and their parent/guardian are invited to “Frozen Fun” a Free event from 12:30 till 2pm at the Mystique Community Ice Center, Upstairs Lounge. Girls will have the opportunity to play the Frozen way with hands-on activities. Public open skating will be available from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Sunnycrest Manor, 2375 Roosevelt Street, will host a Holiday Bazaar with silent auction, raffle, rummage sale, bake sale and food cart. Sponsored by Sunnycrest Manor Auxiliary – All proceeds benefit resident activities/special needs.  Bazaar runs from 1:30pm till 4pm.

The 41st annual New Vienna/Luxemburg Firemen’s Breakfast will be held from 7:30am till Noon at the New Vienna Community Hall serving whole hog sausage, ham, scrambled eggs and more. Breakfast is $8 for adults and $4 for Children ages 6 to 12. All proceeds to help purchase new equipment.

Monday November 25th

The MVRBS Mobile Donor Units will be at Exit Realty Dubuque, 1200 Cedar Cross Road, and at Exit Realty Dyersville, 1021 2 Ave, for a Community Blood Drive from 11:30am till 2:30pm.  Schedule an appointment online at bloodcenterimpact .org (sponsored by Exit Realty and Green State Credit Union).

Thursday November 28th

The Ginter Free Thanksgiving Dinner for those in need will be held at the Joliet Center, 781 Locust Street at Noon. Dinners will also be delivered to senior citizens, shut-ins and disabled. Please call 563-583-8535 for delivery.

Saturday November 30th

12th Annual “Cookies With Santa” At The Brickl Memorial Library in Dickeyvile, WI Come take a picture with Santa, decorate a cookie, and enjoy other activities from 10am till 11:30am!


Sunday December 1st

St. Raphael Cathedral is holding its 18th annual Christmas Raffle, Bake Sale, and Silent Auction to benefit their El Salvador partner parishes after the 9:00am and 5:30pm masses. Proceeds support parish projects in El Salvador. The rae drawing which includes a cash prize will be held in the Cathedral Center at 7 pm. Need not be present to win. Chances can be purchased after masses.

Annual St Nickolas Day and Cookie Walk from 9:00am – 11:00am at Kalmes Restaurant Upstairs Room in St. Donatus, IA. Come meet the traditional St. Nicholas - an icon during the Luxembourg holiday season! A variety of cookies will be available for purchase during the cookie walk as well as cashew brittle and other treats! Sponsored by: St. Donatus Luxembourg Heritage Society.

Wednesday December 4th

Social Hour at Steeple Square takes place the first Wednesday of each month and features, music, tours of the space and a drinks served by our “celebrity” bartenders. Each month the event will have a unique spin from the “celebrity” bartenders. All proceeds will go towards the mission at Steeple Square. Event is from 5pm till 7:30pm.

Saturday December 7th

St Matthew Lutheran Church at 1780 White Street is hosting a Holiday Fair from 9am till 1pm.  Cookie Walk, baked goods, crafts, and Holiday Decor.  Lunch will be available.

A FREE program at 11am for Parents/Guardians/Community Members....Smoke Screen: Vaping checks out the new look of nicotine addiction in a factual conversation about how tobacco is changing. The presentation will include reports from the CDC, e-cigarette facts, risks, costs and marketing.: Brickl Memorial LIbrary in Dickeyville, Wisconsin


Sunday December 8th

The Hazel Green Craft Fair will be held at the Southwestern High School in Hazel Green, Wisconsin from 1oam till 3pm. There will be over 90 crafters participating with a wide variety of crafts and decorative items just in time for Christmas shopping. (Also participation from the business’ in town for free goodies)

Thursday December 12th

Movie Night will be held at Steeple Square in Honkamp Hall. The featured film is “Bells of St. Mary’s” and will begin at 6:30pm. The doors open at 6:00pm and an organ performance of “Bells of St. Mary’s” will kick off the evening. Chairs are provided, but feel free to bring in your own or a blanket. Popcorn, soda, beer and wine are available for purchase. No RSVP needed, suggested donation of $2.

Saturday December 14th

Steeple Square presents, Dancing in December at 6pm with Adam’s Dance Connection. Join Adam for an evening of social dancing, dance lessons, light snacks and a cash bar to support Steeple Square. Tickets are on sale now! They are $15 if you RSVP by Dec 10, $20 at the door. To purchase a ticket, click on the PayPal link on their Facebook event. Proceeds from the event will help support Steeple Square.
