Friday April 19th

The Asbury Eagles Club will host an all you can eat Fried or Baked Cod Dinner from 5pm till 8pm. The cost is $13 for adults and $6 for kids 10 and younger. Salad bar only is $8.

Premier Bank and Tri-State Shred are partnering to offer free shred to the community each Friday in April from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. The public is invited to bring up to three brown paper grocery bags, or equivalent, full of shred for secure disposal at any of Premier Bank’s three locations (2526 NW Arterial Rd., 1975 JFK Rd, 140 W. 9th Street). Locked shred bins will be picked up and disposed of by Tri-State Shred.

Reservations are due today for Hospice of Dubuque’s Biennial Chef’s Dinner and Auction on Monday, April 29th. A ve-course meal  prepared by local chefs will be served at Timmerman’s Supper Club in East Dubuque. A selection of wines will also be included with dinner. A Contemporary Stations of the Cross will begin at 9:30am at St. Raphael’s Cathedral Center. Participants will walk or drive as able to fourteen locations in Dubuque, pausing for prayer and reflection at each. After the walk, a simple soup lunch will be served at Hope House (1592 Locust St) from where participants can be driven back to their vehicles.

Holy Ghost – Immaculate Conception School in Dickeyville is holding an All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry from 4;30 till 8:30 at Sunset Hall in Dickeyville. Dinner tickets are $13 for adults, $7 for youth and $3 for kids ages 2 to 5. Choose seasoned, baked or battered cod. Call (563) 590-8431 for carry-out orders.

Saturday April 20th

The Dubuque Arboretum Spring Clean Up will be held from 9am till Noon. If you would like to volunteer, please call (563) 556- 2100. Lunch will be provided free of charge. The Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are located at 3800 Arboretum Dr.

Join Cornerstone Church as they host the annual Cascade Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10am. This family friendly event will take place at Cascade’s Community Park. (In the event of Rain; egg hunt will be held at Cornerstone Church)

The Galena Public Library will host a free screening at 2pm of the Documentary Film Series: “Thirst” which looks at the confict between public stewardship and private prot. Refreshments will be served. (Also being shown April 22nd at 6:00pm)

Sunday April 21st

The Salvation Army will sponsor an Easter Breakfast and Celebration Day at their location at 1099 Iowa Street. Breakfast will be served at 9:15am with music provided by a quartet from the David Overby and Americana Band. Services will follow at 10:45am. Monday April 22nd

Dubuque Noon Lions club is sponsoring a community night at the Pizza's Ranch on Monday, April 22 from 4 to 8.  We appreciate if you could mention on your calendar of events. All tips that evening go to the Lions Club.  Our members will be the wait staff for evening. One hundred percent of donations given to the Lions club are used for our programs and charitable contributions to organizations.

Registration forms must be received by today to be included on the map for the Peosta City-wide Garage Sales which will be held Thursday May 2nd thru Saturday May 4th. Stop by Fidelity Bank & Trust in Peosta to pick up the registration form. (Maps will be available at the following Fidelity Banks the week of April 29th. Peosta, Dyersville, Epworth, Dubuque)

Tuesday April 23rd

Today is the last day to order tickets for Compass to Care's 6th Annual Breakfast Benefit at the Grand River Center Ballroom from 7:30am to 9:00am on Tuesday, April 30th. Event tickets are $15 each and are on sale at SupportKidsWithCancer .com or by calling Christine at (563) 231-0458. (If you would like to make a donation to help kids travel to cancer treatment, you can do so at CompassToCare .org)

Toddlers ages 3-5, accompanied by a parent or grandparent, are invited to the Dubuque Museum of Art to create art at 2pm. Please come dressed to get messy. Tuition is $3 per child. Thursday April 25th

The Asbury Eagles Club is hosting Chicken Night from 5pm till 8pm The price is $11 for a 4 piece meal and $9 for 2 piece meal. Includes baked potato, corn, salad bar, dinner roll and brownies.

The Jo Daviess County Health Expo will be held from 8:30 till Noon in the Elizabeth Community Building located at 402 West Street in Elizabeth, Illinois. Come meet with over 30 vendors.

Thursday April 25th-Saturday April 27th

The 3-day Epworth City Wide Garage Sale begins today. Stop by Fidelity Bank & Trust in Epworth to pick up a map and tote bag. (This event also takes place Friday at 4:00pm to dusk and Saturday from 8:00am to 11:00am)

Friday April 26th

The Dubuque Noon Lions announce Super Trivia, to be held at 7pm in the Joliet Event Center (K.C. Hall). Teams of 6-8 players will compete for prizes. There is a $100 entry fee per team. All proceeds go to benefit sight, hearing, and community projects. For entry forms please email dubuquenoonlions@gmail.com or call Marie at 563-663-0080.

Celebrate Arbor Day at Central Park by planting a variety of trees and shrubs at 1pm. Volunteers will help dig holes, plant and water small trees and shrubs, and spread mulch. Please contact Michele at (319)481- 7987 or e-mail. (Meet at the Central Park Nature Center)

Saturday April 27th

The Iowa Wine Trail is holding Poker Run Event on the Iowa Wine Trail from 10am till 7pm.  Ticket holders receive a poker card at each winery visited, then at the last stop of the day the players drop off their hand. Tickets are on sale now at any of the 9 Iowa Wine Trail member wineries. Tickets can also be purchased online at  bit.ly/IWTPokerRun or by calling (563) 557-3727.

A Benet will be held from 1pm-9pm for Jason Hosier at Happy’s Place, 2323 Rockdale Road. Jason had a traumatic injury and is paralyzed from the chest down. There will be a silent and live auction, live band, food, bake sale and raes. (Visit HosierStrong on Facebook for more information)

Sunday April 28th

Holy Ghost Congregational in Dickeyville will hold their Parish Breakfast from 8:30am till Noon at the Dickeyville campus school gym. Breakfast is $7 for adults and $3.50 for ages 4 to 12. Proceeds will go to the Holy Ghost decorating and repair fund.

Tuesday April 29th

Wednesday May 1st

The Hempstead High School Drama Club presents: Brighton Beach Memoirs. Tickets are sold at the door for $5, activity passes are accepted. Doors open at 6:30pm, Show begins at 7:00pm runs approximately 2 hours. (Other show times include: May 2nd and 3rd at 7:00pm and May 4th at 1:00pm and 7:00pm)

Saturday May 4th

The 22nd Annual Dubuque Senior High School Rams Booster Club Ram Shooter Golf Outing will be begin with a  shotgun start at Bunker Hill Golf Course. The University of Dubuque Department of Fine and Performing Arts presents it’s Spring Wind and Jazz Ensembles Concert at 7:30pm in the John and Alice Butler Hall. No Ticket Required.

The Great Strides -Cystic Fibrosis One-Mile Walk raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Research will begin at Flora Park. You can register online at c.org or join in at Flora Park. Registration is at 10:00am and the Walk begins at 11:00am.

The Warren, Illinois Town Garage Sale will be held today from 8am till 5pm

Sunday May 5th

Tri-State Independent Blind Society will hold their Spring Craft Show, Flea Market and Garage Sale Fundraiser from 9am till 3pm. Admission is $1 – children under age 10 are free. Their bookstore & concession stand will be open. If you would like to register a table, call (563) 556-8746. (one table is $15, additional tables $10).

Saturday May 11th

he A-Capella Group will perform a repertoire in a variety of styles including American folk, world, classical, and pop at the University of Dubuque Blades Chapel. Show starts at 4pm.
