Sinsinawa Mound remains closed to the public and all programs, events, concerts, prayer services, meetings, tours, and retreats have been canceled through Sept. 1 as they continue to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States.

Friday, September 25

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium will host Family Night from 4pm till 8pm. The evening is an extension of the River Museum’s regularly scheduled hours and will afford visitors an opportunity to enjoy the Museum after hours at a discounted rate. Saturday September 26th
Take part in a multi-day paddling trip on the Mississippi River September 29 – October 1 from Dubuque to Bellevue. Enjoy fall colors and educational programs while taking in the sights and sounds of the river. To register, go online to MyCountyParks.com, click on Jackson County, then events. Ingleside Park in Guttenberg will be the site of a free performance by the Guttenberg German Band from 2pm till 4pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, picnic dinner and your cooler. Masks must be worn into and out of the park. No glass bottles allowed.
The Dubuque Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 7a-12p.The market is located on Iowa St, down around City Hall, between 10th and 13th. See a list of vendors, including a map of the layout online at dubuquefarmersmarket.org. The market runs through October.
Live music along the Mississippi. The Guttenberg German Band Performance from 2 - 4 p.m. Ingleside Park in Guttenberg. Free admission! All ages welcome! Bring a blanket or lawn chair, picnic dinner and your cooler.
The Galena Summer Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 7a-12p.  Located on Commerce St, in front of the old Market House. The Galena Summer Farmers Market runs through October.
It is time for Lego Time at the Brickl Memorial Library in Dickeyville! It will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.

Sunday, September 27th

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dubuque is holding an online Fall series on “Finding Hope in Loneliness” at 10am. The focus today: “The Lessons of Loneliness”. Learn more at stjohnsdbq.org.

Monday, September 28th

Servrpo of Dubuque and Noon Optimists will be holding a Blood Drive from 11am till 3pm at the Key West Fire Station located at 10640 Lake Eleanor Rd. on the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center mobile donor bus. Appointments are required and can be made by calling Nicole at (563) 495-1985 or schedule online at www.bloodcenter.org.

Wednesday, September 30th

The Diamond Jo Casino and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will be hosting a Blood Drive from 11am till 1pm in the Harbor Room of the Casino located at 301 Bell Street, Dubuque. Appointments are required and can be made by calling Erica Barker at 563-321-9613 or schedule online at www.bloodcenter.org.

Thursday, October 1st

Elizabeth Community/24Hr Care, LLC will be hosting a blood drive in partnership with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center from 1pm till 4pm in the Elizabeth Community Building located at 402 W. Street in Elizabeth. Appointments are required and can be made by calling Nicole Karberg at 563-321-7949 or schedule online at www.bloodcenter.org

Wednesday, October 7th

Sinsinawa Mound Center’s Book Discussion will feature “The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse” Join Ecological Programming Coordinator Eric Anglada via Zoom from 7:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, Oct. 7th and 21st. Each discussion will cover roughly half of the book. The discussion is free but registration is required by calling Guest Services at 608-748-4411 or visit www.sinsinawa.org/moundcenter .

Saturday October 10th
The First United Methodist Church of Elizabeth, Illinois, is sponsoring a drive-through meal at the Elizabeth Community Building.  Turkey and dressing sandwiches, cranberry salad, chips and pumpkin bars will be served from 10:30 am to 4:30 p.m.  Meals are $8.00 and single sandwiches can be purchased for $5.00. Monday October 18th

The annual Fall Clean-up at Mt. Calvary and Mt. Oliver cemeteries will begin on Monday, October 19, 2020, and run through Friday, October 23, 2020. Please remove all items and decorations you wish to save no later than Sunday, October 18,2020, All items not removed will be discarded. Cemetery Management requests that no decorations or plantings be placed on grave sites until Saturday, October 24,2020.

 Thursday October 22nd
Dubuque County Fairgrounds TRUNK OR TREAT from 5:30-7PM.
$1.00 per Trick or Treater. Please wear a mask and stay 6 feet from other trunk or treaters.
Saturday October 24th

Friday October 30th

Annual Dubuque County Fairgrounds pork banquet from 5pm till 7:30pm.  Daryl's famous pork loin and all the fixings.  Adults $12 in advance or $14 at the door.  Kids age 5-11 $5.  Get your meal "to go" for just $1 more. Saturday November 21st

Opening Doors’ 19th Annual Attitude of Gratitude Fundraiser will be held at the Grand River Center,500 Bell St. The event starting at 4:30pm features entertainment, a plated dinner, auction, rae and an inspiring story. Cost is $75. More information at openingdoorsdbq.org/AOG/
