DGIL Summer League registration has started for girls currently enrolled in 4 year preK through 8th grades. To register, go to www.dgilsoftball.com.
A League - 7th/8th grades, B League - 5th/6th grades, C League - 3rd/4th grades, D League - 1st/2nd grades, E League - PreK-Kindergarten.
Registration will run through February 29.

February 18, 2024

Breakfast to be held at Holy Cross Lasalle School on Feb 18. Serving from 8am until Noon. Menu includes Scrambled Eggs, smoked and fresh sausage, fried potatoes, pancakes and toast. Cost is 12 dollars for adults and 6 for children. Proceeds will be used to update lifesaving equipment.

The Church of the Resurrection, 4300 Asbury Road, is offering an in person, free food giveaway Saturday, February 24, 8:30 to 10 AM, or until food is gone.
The event will be held in the School gymnasium.  Participants will enter through door #2, on the west side of the building and lineup before the registration table by the entrance to the gym.  Food seekers will be given.numbers before entering the gym and picking out their groceries.
Participants should bring shopping bags and boxes to transport their groceries to a vehicle.
Boxes of food will be available for handicapped individuals who are not able to come inside.

March 1, 2024

On Friday, March 1st, St. John the Baptist will be hosting a Fish Fry at Shannon Hall in Peosta, IA from 4:30pm - 8:30pm. Fried + baked cod with a grilled cheese option are on the menu, along with hash browns, baked potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, corn, rolls, dessert, and beverages. Adults + carry-out orders are $15; children ages 5-12 are $8; children 4 and under eat free. 8 3oz pieces of fish only are $25.

March 2, 2024

Harper is a loving, brave and spirited 5-year-old who has brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Harper has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition that requires an urgent brain surgery and tumor removal in March.

Come to the Asbury Fire Department on March 2nd and enjoy a variety of homemade soups & breads. $10 suggested donation for adults. Participate in the silent auction, or fundraising games. Celebrate Harper and wish her well! (She will be making a drive by appearance, since she needs to stay healthy these next couple of months.)

April 4-7, 2024

Over 150 middle school students are performing on-stage and working behind the scenes to produce The Spongebob Musical at Washington Middle School. Performances are April 4th -April 6th at 7pm and Sunday, April 7th at 2pm. The show is approximately 2 hours in length and will include one 15-minute intermission. $12 all seats available on seatyourself.biz/gwms (available March 11th) or at the door; handicap seating is available upon request (please call ahead) 563-543-6024.
