A police dog was in the midst of training when he inadvertently posed for a photo that has touched a nerve.

Niko, who works with Vancouver Police Department in Canada, was taking part in a rappelling training session with one of the officers when he looked over at the camera with that, well, puppy dog-eyed look that makes people melt like an ice cream cone in the desert.

The Vancouver PD explained what was happening in the photo in the comments section, writing, "As police tactics change, so must our training. Rappelling is a vital skill for our tactical teams to have, and it tests both handler and dog." Niko was safely in a sling

For his efforts, Niko was rewarded with a fun game of tug-of-war. Well done, Niko.
