This Street Fair Is a Perfect Excuse For a Great River Road Trip
There may be no better time to take a drive than this weekend. Make the road trip along the Great River Road to Balltown, Iowa, where the tiny hamlet is hosting the Annual Fall Flea Market & Street Sale.
Drive to scenic Balltown to join the fun while also enjoying the fall colors, the scenic overlook, and Iowa's Oldest Bar & Restaurant.
Days & Hours
Friday, October 14 | Noon-4 pm
Saturday, October 15 | 9 am - 4 pm
Sunday, October 16 | 9 - 4 pm
The fun fall event features antiques, arts & crafts, wine tastings, fall produce, dried flowers, pumpkins, gourds & more.
Enjoy the picturesque vistas, meet the vendors lining the road and check out local businesses. Stop and see the fun fall offerings at Skip Breitbach Feeds.
See the recycled creations of Angie Sigworth of Balltown Bits. Also, stop at Jenna Lueck Studio and Art Gallerie to see her colorful paintings of Balltown and the Driftless Region.
Visit Breitbach's Wine Shed and taste wine, say hi to Joe behind the counter, and peruse an eclectic collection of antiques and curios.
Check out this 1920s baseball jersey worn by a local baseball legend William "Herb" Paisley. It's said that Paisley once hit a ball so hard that it was measured at 700 feet.
Of course, no trip to Balltown is complete without a stop at Iowa's Oldest Bar and Restaurant, Breitbach's Country Dining!
I prefer Iowa's #1 Pork Tenderloin sandwich and a piece of homemade pie whenever I visit Breitbach's.
Breitbach's is always a fun place to visit, whether just a hot cup of coffee, a cold brew at the bar, or the tempting buffet complete with delicious soup, a full salad bar, and all your home-cooked favorites.
Whatever the excuse to hit the road this weekend, be sure to put Balltown, Iowa, at the top of your itinerary
