Every year participating restaurants and businesses honor current and veteran service men and women with free or discounted meals on for Veterans Day.  Here is a current list of places around the tri-state area.  For updates or additional Retail or Travel discounts for Veterans please check out https://www.military.com/discounts

Area restaurants offering freebies or discounts:

Applebee’s; Veterans and active-duty military can select a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day. Proof of service required. https://www.applebees.com/en/veterans-day

Buffalo Wild Wings Free Wings; veterans and active-duty military who dine in or call for takeout at their local B-Dubs can receive a free order of boneless wings and a side of fries. At participating U.S. locations only.

Caribou Coffee; free small brewed coffee for Veterans, active-duty military and their spouse.

Casey’s General Store; free coffee across its more than 2,200 locations.

Chick-fil-A; participating Chick-fil-A locations may offer specials or discounts. Check your local Chick-fil-A to confirm.

Denny’s; offering any Veterans or active-duty military with a valid ID a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. until noon.

Dunkin’ Donuts; veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free donut at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide, no purchase necessary.

Einstein Bros. Bagels; and active-duty military get a free hot or iced medium coffee.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers; receive a card for a free Freddy’s Original Double combo meal. Card is valid through November 30.

Houlihan’s; receive a free entrée from a select menu on Veterans Day with proof of Veteran status or active service in the military (check for participation)

Little Caesars; veterans and active-duty military can get a free Lunch Combo from 11am to 2pm at Little Caesars. Only select Little Caesars are participating, make sure to call ahead to and verify before ordering.

Olive Garden; veterans and active-duty service members a free entree from a special menu. All entrees include Olive Garden’s famous breadsticks and choice of soup or salad.

Perkins; offering military members a free Magnificent Seven Breakfast Meal this Veterans Day.

Red Robin; one free Red’s Tavern Double with Bottomless Steak Fries for Veterans and active duty military. Dine-in only.

Smoothie King; free 20-ounce smoothie with a military ID.

Starbucks; active-duty service members, veterans and military spouses are invited to enjoy a free tall hot-brewed coffee at participating Starbucks stores. Starbucks has expanded this offer to include a free tall iced coffee.

Taco John’s; all active, reserve, retired and honorably discharged members of the US military can get a free small beef #1 combo meal by redeeming the offer in the Taco John’s app.

Texas Roadhouse; from 11am to 2pm, Veterans can drive into the parking lot of their closest Texas Roadhouse and pick up a meal voucher with a valid military ID or proof of service. Vouchers are good for dine in or carry out and can be used until May 30, 2023. There will be a specific menu to select from.

Wendy’s; offering a free small breakfast combo with a valid military ID on Veterans Day. No purchase necessary.

Area businesses offering discounts:

AARP; Join for only $9 per year with a 5-year term and save up to 43% off. Or join for 1 year for just $12 and save 25% off the standard annual rate.

Dollar General; Veterans, active-duty military, National Guard and Reserve and their immediate family members save 20% November 10 through 13 on qualifying, in-store purchases.

Fareway; Veterans, active-duty military, and reserve and guard members get 15% off on November 11.

Goodyear Auto Service; Active-duty military and veterans get free Car Care Checks, plus an additional 10% off tires and services. Eligible guests who present a valid ID can schedule car care check appointments between November 10 and 14 and redeem service through November 17.

Great Clips; On November 11, veterans and active service members can go into any U.S. Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a free haircut card for a future visit. In addition, non-military customers who get a haircut on Veterans Day will also have the opportunity to pay it forward. They can receive a free haircut card to give to an active service member or veteran that can be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12 through December 9.

Kohl’s; Veterans, active and former military personnel, and their immediate families get 30% off in-store purchases from November 11 through 13.

Target; offering a 10% military discount now through November 12 to all active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families. The discount can be used on two separate transactions and applies to all in-basket items, online and in-store.

Walgreens; November 11 through 14, veterans, active-duty military and their families receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide.

As always with any deals or specials, make sure to ask ahead of time. Many national companies are rewarding Veteran’s so make sure to take advantage of the savings right here in the Tri-States.
