If you know me at all you know I'm a big-time meat eater.  Beef, pork, chicken, turkey...I like them all. But if I had to pick a favorite, it's Bar B-Q Ribs.  So this fundraiser has me written all over it!

Duane “Speed” Herrig, also known as “The Sauceman,” is bringing his Cookies BBQ Wagon back to Monticello, IA to benefit Camp Courageous at the Monticello Fareway on October 19, 20, and 21.

Speed is a founding member of the Iowa Barbecue Society and owner of Cookies Food Products in Wall Lake, Iowa. Speed started in the barbecue sauce business in the 1970’s and is a legend across the Midwest, making Camp Courageous grateful that he chose them to be part of this benefit.

The Cookies BBQ Wagon will be stationed in the Monticello, Iowa Fareway parking lot and will sell their products for three days to benefit Camp Courageous. The benefit will start on Wednesday evening, October 19th from 4-6 PM, continue on Thursday, October 20th from 11 AM to 6 PM, and wrap up on Friday, October 21st  from 10 AM to 5 PM.

They will be serving ½ rack of Ribs Dinner and a Pulled Pork Dinner. One can also preorder a whole smoked loin (pre-order required). Ala Carte items will also be available to order along with the Camp Courageous fruitcakes.

Camp Courageous began serving individuals with special needs during the summer of 1974 when 211 campers were served in a summer program. It is the support of so many, including the Monticello Fareway, Speed Herrig, and Cookies BBQ, that allows the Camp to now serve thousands of individuals and their families in a year-round program.
