Hope you haven't misplaced your face masks and coverings....you may need it again real soon.

The Dubuque County Board of Health is recommending employers require their employees to once again wear masks and be vaccinated against COVID-19 in an effort to combat the new COVID-19 Delta Variant.  The Board voted on the recommendations at Wednesdays meeting.

The Board is also recommending that masks be required in businesses and all county government buildings

It is the belief of the board that the county CAN require it's own workers to be vaccinated and wear a mask.  But it can only RECOMMEND, not require private employers to do the same.

Earlier this month, MercyOne and UnityPoint hospital systems have announced that all staff must be vaccinated. That includes workers at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, MercyOne Dyersville Medical Center and UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has recently enacted a law prohibited counties from installing any type of mash mandate.

Earlier today a major concert promoter announced plans to require vaccination proof before working at or attending any of their concerts effective October 1st.  See that story HERE
