I knew a fun time was at hand when the identical twin brothers from Brazil, Walter, and Wagner Caldas, stepped into the WJOD studio on Thursday morning.

Known worldwide as the B2wins, our lively and spontaneous interview proved to be a precursor to their performance Thursday night at Heritage Center at the University of Dubuque.

Wagner plays the ukulele, and Walter plays the electric violin along with a talented backup drummer. They are traveling the globe on a mission to make the world smile more, and with their infectious energy & vibe, they are succeeding.

Their high-energy music is the primary draw, and they are talented musicians dancing, playing, and singing from one end of the stage to another without missing a beat. In addition, B2Win performs fun covers ranging from Bon Jovi to Louis Armstrong, which all combine to inspire the audience to sing, dance, and laugh out loud with the brothers.

A B2Wins show is unlike most others. They insist on direct engagement with the audience by taking questions, telling stories, and delivering a heartfelt message of positivity and empowerment.

It's pretty refreshing to see the twins confidently and comfortably share their trials and tribulations from growing up in the slums of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, overcoming a cancer diagnosis, and taking on life's challenges with a genuine sense of humor and infectious positivity.

It was B2Win's third visit to Dubuque, and they had the Heritage Center on their feet, dancing, singing, and laughing along to the songs and stories for two solid hours.

The sparse Thursday night crowd on the Spartan campus was slightly disappointing. Still, for those in attendance, it was a fun celebration with two wild and crazy brothers with a good grasp on how to entertain and inspire an audience of any size.

Dubuque's Riverview Park Provides Spectacular Views & Affordable Camping

Life along the Mississippi River remains as Twain described it 139 years ago. While the river and the towns lining its bank may be tamer today than in Twain's time, there remains a calming allure to resting on the riverbank and watching it flow.

Dubuque's City-owned and operated 20-acre Miller Riverview Park and Campground is one of the best places to relax and enjoy the mighty Mississippi.
