Here's a heartbreaking twist on a love triangle.

A man in Armenia has decided to raise his newborn son with Down syndrome after his wife said she'd divorce him if he kept the child.

After learning that the boy, Leo, had the condition, Samuel Forrest said his wife, Ruzan Badalyan delivered some unpleasant news:

I got the ultimatum right then. She told me if I kept him then we would get a divorce."

Badalyan confirmed she had a baby with Down syndrome and left her husband, but didn't add anything further.

Forrest, who hails from New Zealand, said he quickly learned about how Armenia handles kids. "What happens when a baby like this is born here, they will tell you that you don’t have to keep them," he said. "My wife had already decided, so all of this was done behind my back."

A week after Leo was born, Badalyan filed for divorce. Forrest, meanwhile, is intent on raising the child in his native New Zealand. He's created a GoFundMe page for help. As of this writing, more than $230,000 has been raised.
