Stabbing In Dubuque Thursday Results in Arrest
Here's the official release from the Dubuque Police department regarding Thursday mornings stabbing in Dubuque.
On 08/09/18 at 6:36 PM, Dubuque Police responded to 525 Loras Blvd., for a report of a stabbing. Police located Michael Deveroux Hennessy Jr., 26, on the back-door step with a stab wound under his left armpit. Hennessy was transported to Finley Hospital by the Dubuque Fire Department for treatment. Hennessy was found to have sustained a puncture wound to his left lung.
Hennessey reported he had been communicating with Christopher Allen Puccio, 24, via cell phone throughout the day. Around 6:00 PM Hennessey went to 488 Angella St #35 to meet Puccio and an altercation ensued. Hennessey was stabbed by Puccio during the altercation. After being stabbed Hennessy ran to his vehicle and drove to 525 Loras Blvd where he collapsed on the back-door step.
A Dubuque Police Officer observed Puccio walking in the area of W. Locust and Kirkwood St. The Officer knew Puccio had two outstanding warrants and he took him into custody. Puccio’s warrants were for Escape and Failure to Appear on an original charge of Burglary. Puccio showed signs of having been in a disturbance. During his arrest, Puccio was found to be in possession of a substance that field tested positive for marijuana and was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Investigators executed a search warrant at 448 Angella #35 and located blood in and around the apartment. A knife was also recovered.
Puccio was charged with Attempted Murder for the stabbing of Hennessy. Attempted Murder is a Class B Felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
