Any stargazers out there? If so, you won't want to miss out on the amazing views this weekend!

A solar flare that happened early Thursday morning, classified as X-Class which is the strongest kind of flare, could result in visibility of the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, from Iowa on Saturday, Oct 30.

The X-Class flare has launched a massive mass of energy towards Earth known as a CME. It is expected to reach Earth late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

People living north of Highway 20 are likely to have the highest chance of seeing the Northern Lights, and the best time to view is going to be from 1 a.m. Saturday morning until sunrise. There's a chance that they may be visible again Saturday night after sunset.
