Netflix Unveils More ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life’ Photos
Lorelai: "Do you think Amy Schumer would like me?"
It's finally here: Netflix unveiled their Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life movies, as well as the very first announcement video. The news came on the same day (July 27) as the Television Critics Association panel for the show.
When can we expect to catch up with Lorelai, Rory and the rest of Stars Hollow? November 25. And according to the Hollywood Reporter, we're getting all four installments at once, as opposed to one per season. Basically, block off a day or two over Thanksgiving break!
Watch the video below — oh, and Amy Schumer's already responded to Lorelai's question:
Netflix's first production stills from their Gilmore Girls revival have given us plenty to speculate about.
The fresh batch of Stars Hollow-y goodness, four 90-minute specials written by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband/fellow executive producer Daniel Palladino, has yet to get a release date. If they keep churning out a steady series of stills, though, it'll be enough to fuel a thousand GG stans' fanfics.
In the series' 2007 finale, Lorelai's relationship with surly diner owner Luke wrapped on a positive-if-slightly-ambiguous note (were they getting married or what?). According to the photo above, no matter what's transpired in the nearly 10 years since, they're happily holding hands around town. Huzzah!
The eldest Gilmore Girl, Emily (Kelly Bishop) will ostensibly be a widower in the new episodes given that Edward Herrmann, who played patriarch Richard Gilmore, died of cancer in 2014. As sad as his absence will be — and it will — Bishop looks vibrant as ever, and I greatly look forward to some classic Emily-style zingers.
Check out the photos, which also feature a classic Stars Hollow town meeting and Lorelai and Rory surrounded by their beloved Chinese food (from Al's Pancake World?), above — and stay tuned for more GG updates.
