Just like last year, Iowans will have an edge by being among the first at having a chance to score tickets to the MLB's upcoming "Field of Dreams" game in Dyersville.

Baseball fans with an Iowa zip code can enter a public registration for a ticket lottery with a chance to be among the first to snag tickets for the game between the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, August 11th, 2022.

The registration will take place through June 9th on the official "MLB at Field of Dreams" website. Lottery winners will be notified on June 15th, and will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets to the game along with one parking pass.

Lucky Iowans who got the chance to purchase tickets to last year's game were treated to one like no other. Kevin Costner appeared out of the dense cornfields for a tribute to the beloved 1989 film. The tribute preceded a showdown for the ages as the Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees in an ending that was straight out of a movie of its own.

It was a game of traded leads until White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson solidified the win with a walk-off home-run into the cornfields. The Sox sent the Yankees home, 9-8, and Anderson had his 13th home-run of the season.

The game had nearly six million viewers, good enough to be the most watched regular season baseball game across all networks since 1998. I was one of them. It was straight up magical.

This year, however, the Cubs and the Reds aren't the only two clubs scheduled to play in Dyersville. Minor League Baseball's Quad Cities River Bandits and Cedar Rapids Kernels will play at the park on Tuesday, August 9th. The hosting River Bandits will become the Davenport Blue Sox (the name they had at separate times during the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s). The visiting Kernels will become the Cedar Rapids Bunnies (their name from 1904-1932).

FOX also revealed plans to honor the late Ray Liotta, who passed away last week at the age of 67. Liotta played Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams.

Register for your chance to be among the first to get your tickets to this year's Field of Dreams game by entering the lottery here!
