Midwest Pride in your Ride Truck and Tractor Show is this Friday and Saturday, May 6th and 7that the Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa. This show will feature working class show trucks/semis and antique farm tractors from our local area, as well as many from across the Midwest. Kick things off Friday at 5:30 pm with a Cancer Survivor Convoy, then enjoy the truck pull and light show; followed by the lifetime achievement awards, live auction, and truck drag racing on Saturday. The Lifetime Achievement Award was started in 2018 and honors individuals in the trucking industry with over 25 years’ experience as an owner-operator or employed with the same company for that period. Also Saturday, kids can take in fun free activities, a bounce house, and games from 11am to 2pm, so there is stuff for whole family to enjoy.

During Friday’s truck pull at 6pm you’ll get to see 3 classes competing for 3 cash prizes in each category. Antique features trucks from 1990 and older with 400 horsepower and under. No 4×4 or 6×6 will be allowed to pull in this class. Single and tandem axle only, and all trucks must be a production truck. Road Truck Class features street legal semi-trucks driven regularly on the highway. An RPM limit of 2500 is to be followed. This is an open class for all semi-trucks, but it is definitely NOT a PURE STOCK class. And the final class, Modified Trucks; these things are truly monsters in a sense, packing in more raw power and torque then the previous classes.

At noon on Saturday, May 7th, you can try your hand in the auction featuring donated items from several sponsors, vendors, and businesses. Spots are still available for the tractor pull and the semi drag racing which takes place on Saturday may 7th at 3pm. Just $20 per class, but you must be registered to compete. There will also be several on site vendors, as well as concessions for food on grounds. No alcohol will be sold at this event, but carry-ins are allowed so you can bring a cooler if necessary. The area campgrounds are also available for people hoping to take in both days of the event.

At Midwest Pride in your Ride, many of their volunteers are also members of area Relay for Life teams. In fact, all proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life (find more information on Relay at http://www.relayforlife.org). By the way, last year the Midwest Pride in Your Ride show donated $103,790 to the American Cancer Society and there are hopes for another big year after this weekend’s show.
