15 ‘Very Iowa’ Habits That Drive Fellow Iowans a Little Nuts

When it comes to things that drive people from Iowa crazy, we all may be a little different.

For me, there's a list of about 15 I came up with. I probably could have added a couple, but I think the list is pretty solid.

These Iowa-isms Drive Me Nuts!

Now, I'm in a unique position. I am an Iowan, but I am also a transplant. I've lived in the Hawkeye State for about 11 years now, and so my list is based on things that will drive both natives and transplants a little crazy.

For my list, I simply took what drives me, personally, a little crazy. So, you may have one or two to add, or maybe you will disagree with a couple on my list.

How I Came Up With The List

As a transplant married to a farmer, I have a unique background. I am both a city boy, living in a pretty decent-sized town, but also a stones throw away from a farming family.

I have a good, or at least pretty good, understanding of both the urban and rural sides of our state.
