Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away, and when we asked residents in Northern Illinois what they wished could be removed from their Thanksgiving table, we got some very interesting answers.

Thanksgiving Must-Haves

Every person has their own set of must-haves when it comes to Thanksgiving, and it seems like everyone usually has their own set of must-nots as well.

When it comes to food, my Thanksgiving must-have list is pretty short;

  • Turkey
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Green bean casserole
  • Bread
  • Carrot cake for dessert

Yes, I know that is one boring Thanksgiving must-have list, but I was shocked to learn that many people in the Stateline area would prefer to NOT have some of those items be a part of their Thanksgiving feast.

What Food Would You Remove From the Thanksgiving Feast?

Since most of us have Thanksgiving on the brain these days, we decided to ask one very important question when it comes to the feast...

After reading through the comments it became very clear, very quickly that cranberries won the award for the most unpopular dish, (FYI, I 100% agree!), and green bean casserole came in at a close second. Some of the other comments were pretty shocking, like how many people said they would do away with the turkey! (Blasphemy!)
