Illinois Hidden Gem Called One of America’s Most Romantic Valentine’s Day Restaurants

Looking for a restaurant to take that special someone for the most important couples day of the year?

If you're like me and surrounded with amazing food, and have little idea what makes a restaurant "more romantic" than others, check this out.

Tasting Table did the leg work for us and listed 30 Romantic Restaurants Across the US to Celebrate Valentine's Day 2024.

While skimming the list I found a joint that sounds absolutely perfect too.

It's primarily perfect because it's in Illinois and not too far from us in the Rockford area.

Tasting Table says Little Madrid Tapas Cafe is essentially the most romantic restaurant in the entire state.

It features authentic fare, small plates style, including classic dishes like patatas bravas, sidra-braised chorizo, and Galician-style octopus. We love this eatery's intimate, close nature, while the small plates allow eaters to share their orders with the people they love. And what is more romantic than that?

Little Madrid is at 4.2 out of 5 according to Yelp.

Reviewers say the "low lighting makes the place romantic" while others disagree calling the place the exact opposite, "tacky."

The candles everywhere add a nice ambiance but upon closer inspection the flowers on the tables and walls are clearly cheap plastic.

Brynn P. called Little Madrid "a hidden gem" and "everything was absolutely delicious."
