Feeding Dubuque for the Holidays Returns December 13th!
The holiday season is a time for joy, family, and giving, and while many families will be enjoying a season together full of food and festival cheer, others might not be so lucky. Yes, the holidays can be extremely enjoyable, but for some it can be a time of loneliness, loss, and want. Whether you're anxious or stressed about the family gathering, spending way to much to "make the season special," or missing some people that won't be at Christmas this year, or anymore, the holidays can be just a rough as they are fun.

Doesn't seem so fun for some. Now add in food insecurity, and you have a nightmare rather than a season of joy and togetherness. In that regard, some great local people are stepping up to make a big difference for those that might not have a Christmas feast to enjoy. That's why I chatted with Rob and Morgan Munter about this year's Feeding Dubuque for the Holidays campaign. The event has really taken off, with plans to gift somewhere around 500 frozen turkeys or hams (maybe even more), plus all the fixings to local residents who need it most.
The Robb emphasized that this is strictly for Dubuque County residents, and each participant must bring a valid ID, as it’s one box per adult per address, with a limit of three boxes per vehicle. When families arrive, volunteers will load the box directly into your vehicle, so there’s no need to get out. This makes it quick, safe, and easy for everyone. Each box includes not just the main course, but also the trimmings: boxed potatoes, dessert mixes, stuffing, a variety of canned goods to make a full holiday meal. And who could forget dessert?! It's in the box too!
This initiative started last year and has grown with strong community support. Local sponsors, including BMW Music Entertainment, Buchheit Tax, Tri-State Women Warriors, Maussco, Big Time Event Rentals, Gleaming Clean by Jackie, Job Technologies, and Kodiak Creative, help ensure that the event runs smoothly and all donations stay local. Volunteers are a huge part of the effort too, helping to organize, pack boxes, and manage the drive-thru setup so that families can get their meals efficiently. The Tri-State Women Warriors were even able to provide a Reefer truck to keep all the meats frozen and safe before dispersion.
For those looking to donate or get involved, non-perishable foods can be dropped off at 3135 Cedar Crest Ridge, Suite B, or Robb Munter can arrange pickup by calling 563-495-0888. Monetary donations are welcome via Venmo (below) or by check made out to Feeding Dubuque for the Holidays. Every contribution helps make sure a Dubuque family can enjoy a warm, festive meal this season.
The event takes place Saturday, December 13th, 2025, starting at 8 AM and continuing until the food runs out. It’s a simple idea with a huge impact: giving back to the community, ensuring that no one goes hungry, and spreading some much-needed holiday cheer. As Robb says, “Everybody needs help at one time or another. If we can help feed some people for the holidays, that’s the reason we do it.” Check out the full interview with Robb and Morgan below.

I encourage you to make a difference this year. Do it local with a donation of food or cash and bless someone less fortunate this holiday season.
