The beloved community event “Dubuque And All That Jazz!” is making a grand return for one night only this summer, according to a press release from Dubuque Main Street. Marking the 40th anniversary of Dubuque Main Street, this revival is set to bring the vibrant spirit of jazz back to downtown Dubuque on June 6th, 2025, under the historic Town Clock on Main Street.

“Dubuque And All That Jazz!” began in the early 1990s as a volunteer-driven initiative aimed at revitalizing downtown Dubuque. Over the years, it evolved into a cherished summer tradition, drawing thousands of attendees eager to enjoy live music and the unique atmosphere of Town Clock Plaza. Although the event was rebranded as “Music on Main St!” after COVID-19, the return of its original format is a tribute to the community’s enduring love for this iconic event.

It was always a great atmosphere in Dubuque's Town Clock Plaza for "Jazz." I spent many Friday nights there in my earliest years of radio. Great tunes. Stellar food and drink. And the amazing people of our local community. In fact, one of my first live remotes after I started in local radio was at a Dubuque and All That Jazz event. I even found a picture from that night with my oldest daughter (see below). She's 14 now and time sure has flown!

“This anniversary is a milestone not only for Dubuque Main Street but for our entire community. The return of ‘Dubuque And All That Jazz!’ allows us to honor our history, celebrate our progress, and bring people together for an unforgettable evening.”

-Danielle Jacobs, Executive Director of Dubuque Main Street

While the specific lineup of performers remains under wraps, attendees can anticipate the same lively atmosphere and community spirit that made the original event a standout. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a welcoming and inclusive evening in the heart of Dubuque. For more information, visit the Dubuque Main Street website or contact the Dubuque Main Street office at 563-588-4400. I look forward to seeing you all there!
