Beer Lovers Need to Get to Cassville Tonight: Cheers to 200 Years!

If you caught my recent write-up about hiking at Nelson Dewey State Park, you already know Cassville isn’t just a scenic stop along the Mississippi, although it is most certainly that, too. It’s a place with deep roots and a strong sense of community pride. That story sparked some great conversations, and it also led to something pretty cool: an invite from the Village of Cassville’s tourism team and the Cassville Bicentennial Celebration group to check out what they have brewing... literally.

Tonight, that local pride takes center stage in a very Wisconsin way, with a great, classic beer! The village is officially kicking off its 200th anniversary celebration with the debut of a brand-new, limited-release brew: the Cassville Bicentennial Old Fashion Lager. Created in partnership with Potosi Brewing Company, this commemorative lager is more than just something to sip, it's soon to be beer heritage: a tribute to the people, history, and small-town spirit that have defined Cassville since 1826.

The first tapping happens this evening, March 18th, at Moon's Town Pump. It’s shaping up to be one of those classic community moments you just can't miss. Doors will open at 5 PM, with the ceremonial first pour set for 6 PM. There’ll be some light snacks, plenty of familiar faces, and the unveiling of that special 200-year commemorative can designed to mark the big occasion. Quick note, the kitchen will be closed during the event.

This is the kind of Wisconsin evening that pairs perfectly with everything I experienced on the trails: local history, great views, and people who genuinely love where they live. Oh, and let's not forget killer brews done with that special Wisconsin vigor!
