Cancelled Rock Bands Return to Dubuque County Fair for 2024
It's officially been announced, and I can't wait to rock with Skillet and Theory of a Deadman at the Dubuque County Fair in 2024! And guess what!? If you held on to your tickets from last year, they will work for this show!
Theory of a Deadman brings a catalogue of 8 amazing albums spanning 21 years of rock. That starts with their first self-titled debut album in 2002 and runs all the way to their latest album Dinosaur released earlier this year.
During that time, theory has racked up loads of nominations and awards including;
- Award Winning Song; Not Meant to Be
- New Group of the Year; 2003
- Pop/Rock Music Award; Not Meant to Be
- No. 1 Song Award (twice); Lowlife & Rx (Medicate)
- Rock Recording of the Year for the album Scars & Souvenirs
You'll hear Theory's number ones like; Bad Girlfriend, Lowlife, Rx (Medicate), and History of Violence.
Along with tracks like Angel, Hurricane, So Happy, Drown, Little Smirk, their latest hit Dinosaur, and loads more.
Theory of a Deadman consists of lead singer and guitarist Tyler Connolly, guitarist Dave Brenner, bassist Dean Back, and drummer Joey Dandeneau, with each member also providing backing vocals across tracks.
And when it comes to rock, we're just getting started as rock mainstay Skillet brings the noise as well.
Spanning 27 years and 11 studio albums, Skillet is one of the hardest working rock bands around, being named in the top 5 for that category in 2010 by Songkick.com.
Of their albums, Collide (2003) and Comatose (2006), received Grammy nominations. Two of their albums, Comatose and Awake (2009), are certified Platinum and Double Platinum respectively by the RIAA, while Rise (2013) and Unleashed (2016) are certified Gold. Four of their songs, "Monster", "Hero", "Awake and Alive", and "Feel Invincible", are certified Multi-Platinum (5× Platinum, 3× Platinum, and 2× Platinum respectively), while another two, "Whispers in the Dark" and "Comatose", are certified Platinum, and another four, "Rebirthing", "Not Gonna' Die", "The Last Night", and "The Resistance" are all certified Gold.
Multiple awards fill this bands career, and their track "Monster" has garnered over 3 billion audio streams globally, with their hit "Hero" also over 1 billion.
The bands current line-up consists of original member, bassist, and lead singer John Cooper, along with his wife Korey Cooper on rhythm guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals. The band is filled out by Jen Ledger on drums and vocals, and lead guitarist Seth Morrison.
The Dubuque County Fair is set to reclaim its stage next summer with this rescheduled performance, thwarted by severe weather.
Again, fans who held tickets for the initial event will be honored for the same seats on the rescheduled date. This promises to be an unforgettable night for rock fans across the tri-states.
