Step of Faith K9’s in Dubuque Pairs Individuals with Trained Service Dogs

When it comes to supporting local non-profits, there might not be an easier and more impactful program than Kwik Care.

If you're not aware, Kwik Care has helped raise both funds and awareness for local nonprofits. Each month, Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen help collect donations for a different organization. Donations can be made easily by requesting your total purchase at any of those businesses (including at the gas pumps at Kwik Stop) be rounded up to the nearest dollar. The additional cents used to round up will be donated to the respective charity of the month.

The Kwik Care recipient for the month of September is Step of Faith K9's, quite possibly one of the most unique nonprofit organizations in all of Dubuque. Step of Faith K9's pairs veterans, first-responders, and individuals across all walks of life with specially trained service dogs who assist them in their mental health and even daily activities.

Heather Hamm of Rainbo Oil/Kwik Stop and Angela and Amy of Step of Faith K9's stopped by the studio to chat about all the organization does. Amy is one of the recipients of a dog from Step of Faith K9's, a lovely, loyal poodle named June, who has helped her quell her anxiety and responds to her needs as they arise.
