An actor, comedian, and Chicago native who appeared on some of the most popular sitcoms of our time has passed away at the age of 60-years-old.

Pat Finn was a television staple, playing a handful of minor and recurring roles on shows like Murphy Brown, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and EdFriends fans might remember him as Dr. Roger, while Seinfeld fans will recognize him as Joe Mayo. More recently, Finn played Bill Norwood on ABC's The Middle from 2010 to 2018.

Pat Finn grew up in Wilmette, IL and graduated from Marquette University, where he went on to perform at the legendary Second City along with the iO comedy troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice." An adjunct professor, he taught Improv for Strategic Communication at the University of Colorado, where his daughters graduated, along with Marquette, where his son graduated, per Fox 32 Chicago.

In 2022, Finn was diagnosed with bladder cancer and subsequently went into remission. The cancer returned and metastasized, however.

In addition to TV shows, Finn appeared in a number of recognizable movies, mostly comedies, including Dude, Where's My Car?, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Jeff Garlin's underrated Dealin' with Idiots.

Finn is survived by his wife Donna, and their children, Cassidy, Caitlin, and Ryan; his parents, Leo and Betty; and siblings Michelle (Henry), Tracy (Judy), Tom (Debbie), Kevin (Francie) and Katie (Matt).
