Nike is an Affectionate Kitty Who Would Make a Lovely New Family Member
Each week, the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is highlighting a "Pet of the Week." The Pet of the Week is available to be adopted via the Humane Society. This week, the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is highlighting another amazing four-legged friend.
This week, the Humane Society is highlighting Nike, an adorable female cat who is 10-months-old, and hankering for her forever home. Nike is FeLV+, meaning she is positive for feline leukemia. which means she is immunocompromised. This virus is exclusive to other cats, meaning Nike must be the only cat in your home, unless another cat you have in your home is also FeLV+.

Nike is the definition of a "lap cat." Her happy place is with her humans, and she's at her happiest when she's showing those she loves a great deal of affection. Beyond her love for her humans, she is a very playful kitty, quick to chase a toy. Tempt her with a string and you'll see her be a bouncy, joyful little girl.
As affectionate as she is, she can be shy at first. Like most cats, it might take time to build trust and win her over. But once you find your way into her heart, you're not getting out of there. If you're looking for a special cat to welcome into your home, Nike fits the bill!
