
USPS Forever Stamps Are Getting More Expensive Again
I doubt very many of you reading this send something in the mail very often. Most of us take care of our monthly bills online, and any official correspondence can also be done via email. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that the U.S. Postal Service is raising its prices...again.
Forever Stamps Prices Going Up
CBS2 reports that the price of a US Postal Service Forever Stamp is going up in price. It will go from 78 cents up t that other services that will see an increase include;o 82 cents, a four-cent increase, as of July 12th. Overall, the Postal Service is raising its prices by 4.8%. In a statement, the organization said that an ongoing financial crisis has caused operating costs to continue to go up. CBS2 reports that other services that will see an increase include;
- Letters (1 oz) 4 cent increase- 65 cents
- Letters (metered 1 oz) 4 cent increase- 78 cents
- International postcards 5 cent increase- $1.75
- International letter (1 ounce) 5 cent increase- $1.75
Postal Service Continues to Lose Billions
A financial report released in May revealed that the US Postal Service is facing net losses of $2.7 billion, according to CBS2. The USPS implemented a hiring freeze to help cut costs.
Stamps purchased prior to the price hike on July 12th will still be accepted.
