Iowa College Hosts Bossy Alum As Homecoming Guest This Weekend
He never really went away, but soon we'll likely be hearing and seeing a lot more of actor Tony Danza across the Hollywood media spectrum than we have in the 30 years since "Who's the Boss" went off the air. With a reboot in the works and his likely involvement in it, he'll soon be all over the place once again.
That includes a special appearance here in Iowa this October. Danza, while born in Brooklyn, New York, is a University of Dubuque alum (!) and as KWWL reports, the college has booked Danza for a homecoming show.
Danza will be joined by his four-piece (guess he's a musician now) band for "Standards & Stories" on the University of Dubuque campus on October 22, 2022. This also marks his class's 50th anniversary.
Danza spoke about the appearance in a media release from the University of Dubuque, saying:
I’ve been lucky. Lucky to come to the University of Dubuque and lucky to still be around and be able to come to our class’ 50th reunion. Adding to all of this luck, I get to perform during the weekend. It’s a great honor to be a part of the reunion weekend and to pay tribute to the University because much of who I am today is a result of the time I spent here. I want to thank the school’s staff, present students, my classmates, and everybody else here at the University. And lastly, all I can say is, fight on Spartans down the field, onto victory.
If his best-known roles on the shows Taxi and Who's the Boss didn't make him cool enough, he went to UD on a wrestling scholarship.
