Popular Weather App Used in Minnesota and Wisconsin Now Offering a “Mosquito Forecast”
It's one of the top weather apps for smartphone users in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and a new feature claims to help "better plan summer activities" against pesky mosquitos.
The new in-app feature is a partnership between a weather powerhouse, and a bug repellant powerhouse that brings over 15 billion climate data points together with mosquito data from over 5,000 locations that predicts mosquito behavior and populations.

OFF insect repellant launched their "OFF!Cast Mosquito Forecast" in 2022, it uses scientific data from entomology research to predict mosquito behaviors for any given zip code throughout the United States.
Thanks to the new partnership with The Weather Channel, you'll now be able to conveniently access the up-to-date Mosquito Forecast within the app's new experience on iOS. This valuable forecast will clearly indicate either low, medium, high, very high, or severe mosquito activity levels for today and the days ahead, helping you plan outdoor activities accordingly.
Additionally, OFF is enhancing its online tool by incorporating improved weather data from The Weather Channel into the OFF!Cast Mosquito Forecast on its website, providing users with even more accurate and detailed information.
"Mosquito activity is very dependent on weather patterns," said Tom Mascari, principal entomologist with SC Johnson's Center for Insect Science. "Checking the weather and local mosquito forecasts for the week can improve people's ability to prepare themselves to spend time outdoors."
