Dubuque Receives Financial Reporting Award for 33rd Consecutive Year
Highest Form of Recognition in Governmental Accounting & Financial Reporting
For the 33rd year in a row, the city of Dubuque has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the City’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement was presented to City of Dubuque Director of Finance and Budget Jennifer Larson and Assistant Director of Finance Cassie Ross to recognize their role in preparing the award-winning annual report.
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and users’ groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is major professional association headquartered in Chicago, with offices in Washington, D.C.
