Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanagh will deliver his first State of the City Address at 7 p.m. tonight, Monday, October 24th. Want to know how things are going in our All America City?  Dubuque Mayor Cavanagh is just about to wrap up his first full year as Mayor.  How do you think he's doing?

The public is invited to attend this free event in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of the Historic Federal Building at 350 W. Sixth Street.  The event will also be broadcast live on CityChannel Dubuque (Mediacom channels 8 and 117.2) and streamed live at www.cityofdubuque.org/livestream and www.facebook.com/CityOfDubuque.

Mayor Cavanagh said:

"We have had many successes that need to be celebrated and lifted up for all to see, but I would also like us to look ahead,".  "There are many challenges and opportunities on the horizon, and we are making plans to address each of these head-on."

Cavanagh said he hopes his remarks leave listeners with a sense of accomplishment and pride in Dubuque's successes, a sense of purpose and resolve to tackle the issues ahead, and a sense of inspiration to continue to dream of the Dubuque everyone wants to create for generations to come.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore
