‘Doctor Who’ Season 8 Adds Keeley Hawes as Another Mystery Character
'Doctor Who' season 8 remains enshrouded in mystery, even as we've already met the new Time Lord on the block Peter Capaldi, seen his costume, and met a mysterious new companion joining series star Jenna-Louise Coleman. Now, the eighth season has added 'Upstairs Downstairs' vet Keeley Hawes in yet another villainous recurring mystery role, revealing the first photo in character to boot.
According to BBC press, Hawes will take the role of Ms. Delphox, a "powerful out of this world character with a dark secret". Peter Capaldi's 12th (ish?) Doctor and Clara Oswald come face to face with the mysterious Ms. Delphox when they arrive on a strange and puzzling planet, in an episode written by 'Sherlock''s Steve Thompson and directed by Douglass Mackinnon.
Hawes herself said of the role, “I am delighted to join Doctor Who and to be working with this incredible team. Ms Delphox is a great character and someone I've had a lot of fun playing.” Showrunner Steven Moffat added "Anyone watching Jed Mercurio's amazing 'Line of Duty' will know that Keeley Hawes is having one hell of year. And now it's about to get even better as she achieves the greatest villainy yet attempted on 'Doctor Who': she plays a banker."
Elsewhere, we’ve even heard rumblings that Matt Smith could make a special appearance in the as-yet-undated premiere, but what say you? Does the latest addition make the new ‘Doctor Who’ season sound like the best yet? Check out the full photo of Hawes in character below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
