Did David Bowie’s Son Diss Lady Gaga’s Grammys Tribute?
Lady Gaga's mile-a-minute tribute to her late hero David Bowie during the 2016 Grammy Awards last night (February 15) earned her both praise and criticism alike from viewers — and Bowie's own son, Duncan Jones, might have been one of the voices of dissent.
Immediately following Gaga's performance, Jones tweeted: "'overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused. Damn it! What IS that word!?"
The quoted definition comes directly from a Google search of the meaning of the word "Gaga."
As for whether that's a subtle way of throwing some shade in the direction of Mother Monster's tribute or perhaps just a playful acknowledgment of Gaga (?), it's all very unclear. However, Little Monsters have already begun defending their idol.
"She honored your father In a way no other artist would," one wrote to him.
"Ladygaga put her entire heart and soul into that performance with the deepest respect and abiding love.✨💖✨," another added.
