UPDATE:  The burning ban for Dubuque County has been lifted.  Please know there is still a burn notification ordinance in effect that requires notification to the non emergency dispatch number for any open burning.

 

 

ORIGINAL STORY

 

Iowa State Fire Marshall Dan Wood has issued a burning ban in Dubuque County effective Friday April 27 at Noon.All open burning in Dubuque County is prohibited. Dubuque County's current dry conditions means open burning could cause danger to life or property.

The State Fire Marshall's office did not say how long the burning ban would be in effect.

Violation of the burning ban is a simple misdemeanor.
