We've yet to see a single frame of footage from the Disney Channel's forthcoming 'Boy Meets World' sequel-spinoff series 'Girl Meets World,' even as last week saw the announcement that Lee Norris would reprise his role as Minkus, and already, its biggest reunion yet has taken place. Rider Strong's Shawn Hunter, Betsy Randle's Amy Matthews and William Russ' Alan Matthews will all return in an upcoming episode, as revealed in a new photo!

We had thought the 'Boy Meets World' sequel series might wait a bit to return some of the more classic franchise characters, but the Disney Channel revealed the above photo over Instagram, confirming that Shawn and Cory's parents would join an upcoming 'Girl Meets World' episode for a holiday installment. Seemingly missing from the reunion is Will Friedle's Eric Matthews, though given that we'd previously seen him around the set, a cameo appearance can't be that far off.

Scheduled to premiere this summer with 21 episodes, here’s how The Disney Channel describes ‘Girl Meets World’:

Set in New York City, the new comedy series will tell the wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that Boy Meets World is renowned for — only this time from a tween girl’s perspective — as the curious and bright 7th grader Riley and her quick-witted friend Maya (played by Sabrina Carpenter) embark on an unforgettable middle school experience.  But their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted slightly under the watchful eyes of Riley’s dad who’s also a faculty member — and their new History teacher — and Riley’s mom who owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding.

The series features Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter in the roles of Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley Matthews, and Riley’s Shawn Hunter-esque friend Maya Fox, with Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprising their roles from the original series. William Daniels (Feenay!) will also return for the pilot episode.

Well, so much for small doses, but what do you think? Could 'Girl Meets World' be as good as its predecessor, even if the past stars only pop up now again again? What other 'Boy Meets World' players would you like to see appear when the Disney Channel debuts the new series later this year?
