Bill Cosby will have two major allies in his corner as his sexual assault trial begins today (June 5) in Norristown, Pa. Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show, helped escort the veteran comedian into the courthouse this morning.

Cosby is under trial for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his home in 2004. More than 40 women have accused the 79-year-old entertainer of sexual assault.

According to PEOPLE, actress Phylicia Rashad, who played his wife on The Cosby Show, will also make an appearance during his trial as well. Both Pulliam and Rashad have made public comments supporting the veteran funnyman.

“They’re coming in to hear the truth," states Cosby’s rep, Andrew Wyatt. Keshia feels the same way. She’s not here to proclaim guilt or innocence. She’s here to finally hear the truth for herself in the courtroom. She wants people to stop listening to the sensationalism and come hear the truth.”

Cosby, who says glaucoma has left him legally blind, does not intend to take the stand. However, his accuser, who settled a lawsuit against Cosby in 2006, will testify. Other potential witnesses plan to testify as well. The trial is expected to last two weeks.
