As Al Roker celebrates his 62nd birthday today (Aug. 20), the good-natured weatherman for NBC's Today morning show is being saluted on Twitter for shutting down Billy Bush over #LochteGate.

For those who don't know, U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte told NBC’s Billy Bush that he and teammates Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen, were robbed at gunpoint by men dressed as police officers while they were in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

However, a surveillance video contradicted Lochte’s initial claims. The clip reportedly shows the swimmers breaking down the door of a gas station bathroom and fighting with a security guard. It was later discovered that Lochte lied about the incident.

Subsequently, Conger and Bentz were jailed for filing a false police report (they have since been released) and Feigen agreed to pay a $10,800 fine to be permitted to leave Brazil. Meanwhile, Lochte, who left Brazil before authorities caught wind of his lie, has since apologized to media.

So during a discussion about #LochteGate on Friday's edition (Aug. 19) of the Today show, Al Roker went off on Billy Bush who seemed to be supporting Lochte's story of the incident despite all of it being a boldface lie.

The video above is hilariously edited with sound effects as Roker clearly is not having it. As the veteran meteorologist tries to explain that Lochte lied to the media and left his teammates hanging ("he skedaddled"), Bush maintains that Lochte "embellished" his story.

Roker is so upset you can see him stirring his chilled mojito vigorously as Bush tries to defend Lochte's actions. In the end, Roker and Bush agreed to disagree on the matter.

As for the Twitterverse, they saluted Al Roker for not supporting the bulls--- and changed the hashtag from #LochteGate to #LochteLied.
