I'm proud to say, over the past few years I've become more knowledgeable about the sports world in general.

Is that partly because Taylor Swift is dating Travis Kelce?

Not going to deny that one bit!

Is it because I've caught the bug for basketball thanks to Iowa's very own Caitlin Clark?

That's also a big fat yes!

It felt like my 'Avengers: Endgame' when Clark and Swift were spotted hanging out together at the Texans versus Chiefs matchup.

A big game day celebration isn't complete without the food though!

What Is Iowa's Favorite Dish for the "Big Game?"

Mental Floss put together a state by state map of the most popular snacks that people serve up at the Super Bowl.

This data came from a website called Coffeeness, which selected some of the most popular Super Bowl foods based off of search volume data between December 2023 and March of 2024. A large portion of this data was focused on the time period directly leading up to the championship matchup and right after.

These researchers looked at more than 1,300 different food items and hundreds of dessert keywords so they could determine a state's preference.

Nationwide, it seems like buffalo chicken dip is king.

Twenty-nine states claimed this dip as their favorite, according to the report.

Iowa just so happens to be one of those states that fall in line with this. This dip/appetizer seems to be a regional favorite. The majority of the Midwest and the Northeast appear to absolutely love buffalo chicken dip.

For me personally, it's not my favorite.

No hate to the buff chicken gang, but I prefer sliders or wings over this any day!

I won't turn my nose up at it, but I'm not usually one to go for seconds when this dip is on the table.

The second most popular dish to serve up during the big game is a baked potato.
