When I first moved to Cedar Falls four years ago, I was amazed at all of the businesses and restaurants on Main Street.

There were so many great options, and they were all within walking distance of each other!

One of the first restaurants that I remember trying and loving was the Brass Tap.

My mom drove out with me from Pennsylvania for my new job in the Cedar Valley. On the last day she spent with me during that trip, we made a stop at the Brass Tap, which was quickly becoming one of our favorite spots.

Unfortunately, if you love the Brass Tap as much as I do, you only have so much time to drop in before they close their doors.

The Brass Tap in Cedar Falls is Closing

On Saturday, January 18th officials from the Cedar Falls restaurant dropped some shocking news on social media; they would be closing up shop THIS WEEK.

"It is with a heavy heart and deep gratitude that we announce the closure of The Brass Tap in just one week's time, due to unforeseen circumstances."

This comes just about a year after the establishment closed its doors to the public for a remodel.

The Brass Tap's Final Week in Cedar Falls

The final day that the restaurant will be open to the public will be Saturday, January 25th for their normal hours from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM.

In the social media statement, the Brass Tap team encouraged customers who are a part of certain rewards programs like the Brew Crew and Mug Club to drop in.

Brew Crew can still go into the business and use their points during their final week. In addition, Mug Club members will be able to drop in starting on Wednesday so that the BT team can give out mugs for them to take home.

There is no word on what will become of the Brass Tap's physical space in Downtown Cedar Falls. We will keep you updated as more information comes out regarding this.

Roseanne Barr Abandoned Iowa Mansion in Eldon, IA

I fell into a rabbit hole when I found out that Roseanne Barr almost had a mansion in Iowa. After seeing the current state of the property on Facebook, I was amazed that such an extravagant project could be so quickly overtaken by nature. Only two hours away from Waterloo, this abandoned field could have hosted some of the coolest and elite Hollywood parties in the Midwest. The current photos were taken by Gable Fry on a recent trip he took.
