Good Deed Done By Illinois Man

Do you ever have one of those days where all you do is run into rude people? It seems like it happens to me just about any day I'm out running around town. It's not just here in Rockford. In fact, it happens all over the state of Illinois. Okay, let's be honest, the problem is everywhere.

I believe that people have forgotten how to treat each other. Our city, state, and country are full of jerks. What happened to being polite to others? That's all I ask for. You don't have to be my friend, just be nice. Is that so hard? With the experiences I've had lately businesses even have trouble with customer service. It brings me down at times.

Luckily, I read about an incident that happened recently that gave me hope for humanity. Someone in Illinois actually did the right thing which surprised the heck out of me. It put a smile on my face.

A man in Prospect Heights dropped his wallet. He thought it was lost forever. The worst part was it had $5,784 in cash in it. That's a lot of money to lose. I immediately thought that someone found the cash and went on a spending spree.

I'm so happy to report that didn't happen. An honest man found the wallet. There was a driver's license inside so he took it to the local police station. They were able to track down the man and return his cash. That just doesn't happen anymore but I'm so glad it did. What would you do?
