For me as a kid, it was things like going to cut down our own Christmas. Also, heading to downtown Chicago to see the decorations. If my family, didn't have a chance to do those traditions it really didn't feel like Christmas.

Unfortunately, sometimes those holiday traditions go away for some reason or another. It can be heartbreaking for the children, especially if it's something they've done every year. There is sad news to report for a couple of popular events that aren't going to be happening this year.

This first one is the 2024 Polar Express train ride. There is construction this year going on at Union Station in Chicago so this tradition isn't able to happen. Hopefully, they can make a comeback next year.

The second 2024 Christmas tradition cancelation is the Christkindlemarket at Wrigley Field. The historic venue will be hosting the NHL Winter Classic so there isn't enough room for both. Guess what's getting bumped.
