Experience Luxury Dining at Illinois’ Cheapest Michelin Spots
If you've watched FX's The Bear, you know the importance of a Michelin Star.
Those are usually given to restaurants that, like Timeout says, are "mostly stuffy" and, at the same time, pretty darn expensive.
It's expensive, like holding off on the car payment this month because you're going to a fancy Michelin-starred restaurant.
As big a fan of food as I am, I have never had a meal at a Michelin restaurant.
I'd love to change that, but that whole car payment is part of why I skip the super expensive fancy meals: budgets and stuff.
What if a few restaurants in Illinois were cheap enough for just about everybody while also offering Michelin-level food service and ambiance?
According to Timeout's list of the cheapest Michelin-star restaurants in the U.S., a few places do just that.

On the list, there are two such places in Illinois:
Sepia ranked second overall, offering a "prix fixe menu" that will "only set customers back $95 total."
The other is called Boka, ranked 10th out of 11 restaurants on the list.
Timeout says Boka offers an "eight-course prix fixe meal for $175, with an $85 wine or $70 alcoholic drink pairing."
Boka is more expensive than Sepia, even though Timeout ranks the latter higher.
Sepia, 123 North Jefferson Street, has a Yelp rating of 3.9, which is a bit low considering it is a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Meanwhile, Boka is rated 4.3 out of five on the popular review site.
