When my kids were young, they always looked forward to meeting Santa. They would always be so excited.  What kid wouldn't? But when you throw in breakfast too, it's a no-brainer!

Grab the kids, grandkids, and even the great-grandkids and bring them to Breakfast with Santa this Sunday, December 18th at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds.  This years' event will feature a delicious fresh-cooked breakfast including pancakes, sausage, tater tots, eggs, and applesauce. Plus OJ, milk and coffee.

There will also be fun activities for the kids including decorating holiday crafts with help from the fairgrounds' friendly volunteers.  We still have several of the craft items our kids made nearly 30 years ago at Breakfast with Santa.

Of course, the main attraction is that famous man in the red suit, SANTA!  He'll make his way from the North Pole to visit with your youngsters from 9:30 a m till Noon.  Bring your iPhones to capture the moment.

And yes there's stuff for the adults too!  Several vendors will be hand with great holiday gift ideas for that special someone on your list (even if that special someone is you!)

Another bonus waiting for you on Sunday is the beautiful Christmas village on display in the fairgrounds ballroom, complete with moving parts and characters.  I've seen this display first hand and it's breathtaking.

Big shoutout to all the volunteers that make this event possible.  Dozens of Dubuque County Fair Board members along with their family and friends donate their time each year to make this event happen.

Of course special thanks to Santa for making an early trip to the tri-states to visit with our kids and grandkids.  The holidays are a time for family, and what better way to celebrate than with a family get-together at the fairgrounds.

I plan to be there on Sunday.  Hopefully, I'll see you there.
