A Dubuque man has been arrested following a summer incident in which he allegedly ran over a woman with his vehicle during a domestic disturbance. Thomas J. Tremble, 26, of 3670 Pennsylvania Avenue, was taken into custody at around 9:30 PM on October 29th by Officer L.A. Pothoff near the intersection of Northwest Arterial and John F. Kennedy Road. Tremble now faces an additional charge of possession of marijuana and was served a warrant for serious injury by vehicle, a felony.

The incident of serious injury by vehicle reportedly occurred on June 14th, 2024, on the 2700 block of Pleasant View Drive. According to court documents, Dubuque police responded to a call around 11:24 PM after a witness reported seeing a woman dragged under a vehicle and then run over by its rear tires. The witness stated that Tremble and the woman, had been arguing before Tremble allegedly entered his vehicle to leave quickly. The witness said the women involved was dragged under the vehicle as Tremble went to speed off.

Documents detail that after the incident, Slaymaker was found in the middle of the street, screaming in pain, "you ran me over," before crawling toward the curb where a small child was also standing. Thomas Tremble reportedly backed up and then placed both the woman and the child into the vehicle, and drove to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital, where police later arrived to question them. Reports state the woman suffered serious abrasions and a large gash on her foot.

Police confirmed the use of traffic camera footage to confirm the vehicle’s identity, which leading to Tremble and the victim's discovery at the hospital.
