Paul McCartney was going to make a lot of fans' years simply by putting on a rock solid show in Des Moines, IA. The 83-year-old singer brought his Get Back Tour to the Casey's Center this week, playing over three dozen songs in a three-hour show that, judging by social media reactions, was worth every penny of the ticket price.

It surely was for one fan, whose birthday wish came true. He got an acknowledgement from McCartney on his big day. However, it did require some serious monk-like devotion, showing up for the show several hours before doors even opened.

A Sioux City Man's Dreams Came True:

KCCI caught up with some concertgoers, one of whom traveled all the way from Utah after waking up at 3am in advance of the show. Dozens lined up by a loading dock near the Casey's Center in Des Moines to wait for the doors to open at 6:30pm, and of course to try and catch a glimpse of the Beatles legend when he arrived.

Dan Myers, a lifelong fan of McCartney from Sioux Falls, was attending the show on his 65th birthday. He told KCCI that every song of McCartney's has a personal meaning for him, and he still sings along like he did some-40 years ago, when these songs were new.

This week's show was the third time Myers has seen McCartney perform in Des Moines, and the 19th time total. When McCartney's car pulled up to the venue, the star yelled "Happy Birthday!" to Myers. Myers presumably exclaimed it was his birthday to McCartney as he was riding up. He was beside himself with joy.

Whether they're meeting fans at a convention, interacting with them at concerts, or in McCartney's case, shouting "Happy Birthday!" to a lifelong fan, there's one thing they need to keep in mind. While they themselves might forget the occurrence in five minutes, that fan is going to remember it for the rest of their life. He or she will tell that story for the rest of their lives.

Paul McCartney Gave a Marathon Performance:

It's astonishing that, at 83-years-old, McCartney would still be performing for three hours, but that's exactly what he did in Des Moines this week. Per Setlist.FM, these are the songs fans can expect to hear at a McCartney show during his Get Back Tour:
