One of Iowa's favorite NFL teams will be playing a game exclusively on Netflix this season. It's part of the NFL's ongoing effort to broaden their product on streaming platforms. For example, Thursday Night Football is already exclusive to Amazon Prime Video while two Wild Card playoff games this season will only be available on Peacock.

NFL fans are some of the most loyal fans any league can ask for, but that doesn't change the fact that these constant changes make it a pain in the ass for folks to watch their favorite teams. NFL Sunday Ticket used to be an annual expense that would guarantee fans of the game can watch every single matchup on any given Sunday, with Thursday and Monday night primetime games airing on cable TV. We didn't know how great we had it then.

That being said, the Kansas City Chiefs, who are extremely popular in Iowa, will be playing in one of two Christmas Day games set to air exclusively on Netflix. One thing I didn't expect when moving to Iowa a couple years ago was the abundance of Chiefs fans in every corner of this state. Even Caitlin Clark is a self-proclaimed "super-fan" of the team.

The Chiefs will be taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh on December 25th. The game will kick off at 12pm (local time) on Netflix with the Chiefs sure to be favorites, given the fact they're the reigning Super Bowl champs, who as of this writing haven't lost a game. This despite Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes' poor statistical start to the season. TBD on who will be the starting quarterback for the Steelers at that point. Will it be Russell Wilson? Will it be Justin Fields? Who can say?

In addition, the Baltimore Ravens will be squaring off against the Houston Texans in Houston on December 25th, the second game in a double-header to be streamed exclusively on Netflix. That game will kickoff at 3:30pm. This game is a rematch of the Divisional playoff game last year, which saw the Ravens mollywhop the Texans 34-10 following Houston's upset of the favored Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round.

I have no animosity against the Chiefs. Frankly, I find them to be the most interesting and compelling NFL dynasty in my lifetime (sorry, Patriots fans). However, I'm more excited for the Ravens/Texans game. Derrick Henry has an outside shot to break Eric Dickerson's rushing record (2,105 yard) with Lamar Jackson playing outstanding football to start the season too. Then there's C.J. Stroud, one of the most electrifying young quarterbacks in only his second season.

Be aware that you will need a Netflix subscription to watch both of these games on Christmas Day. Learn more about the Chiefs taking on the Steelers and the Ravens playing the Texans in back-to-back first-time NFL matchups on Netflix over on Netflix's website.
