Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker Throws Support Behind Champaign and a Local Bar
Amidst a contentious political environment, Governor JB Pritzker took a break from the noise to throw his support behind a popular college watering hole in downstate Illinois.
Pritzker posted a video in support of a Champaign, IL bar as a way to encourage people to vote for the University of Illinois in a new tournament that seeks to find the best college town in America.

The search to find America's #1 college town is narrowing down, and Champaign, IL was in the running to be the victor. It's part of a contest called "Barstool's Best College Town Tournament," because who else would be behind such a contest than the company that makes a competition out of everything?
Pritzker posted a video at KAMS in Champaign, encouraging people to vote for the University of Illinois in the bracket tournament. In the video, Pritzker did what is called "icing out," a popular act amongst college kids that involves removing all of the ice from a mixed drink before chugging it.

Per ABC 7 Chicago, Pritzker appeared to be drinking a "Blue Guy," a concoction comprised of one vodka shot and four-to-five ounces of Bam! Blue Raspberry Energy Drink. He capped off the act and his subsequent gulp with an "I-L-L" chant.
Pritzker has always been strong at involving himself in Illinois traditions, despite being a billionaire transplant.
Unfortunately, Champaign was eliminated from Barstool's Best College Town Tournament contest, though it did place in the top 16 in the country, no small feat for a school that might not be top-of-mind on the national scale.
