Hills & Dales Has Opportunities for Those Looking to Make an Impact

Hills & Dales — a non-profit with a nearly 50 year history of building meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities — is looking to hire for several positions that would provide someone (and many others) with an opportunity at valuable service in the community.

Shari and Kate, both longtime employees of Hills & Dales, came by the studio today to talk about the career opportunity, as well as gave insight as to what the organization has done in the community for five decades:

[Hills & Dales has] a variety of programs inclusive of our residential facility as well as our in-home community housing. We offer autism services, we offer senior activities, and a daycare center as well, so lots of options happening in our organization [and] throughout our community [....] We also have employment services that assist individuals with disabilities [and help them] obtain employment in our community. - Shari, HR Assistant Director at Hills & Dales

When it comes to the Direct Support Professional/Personal Assistant position, it offers the opportunity for someone to grow close to residents and provide valuable care to individuals:

We are looking to fill positions for our Direct Support Professionals as well as some nursing positions. We got flex positions available, which means you can kind of create your schedule throughout the month. But we have a lot of full-time positions, so we're willing to work with you to find the right position that meets your needs. - Shari

Kate has been with Hills & Dales for 23 years. She started as an assistant and has worked her way up to becoming a program director. She talked about how gratifying her job has been over the course of more than two decades:

I think that one of the most gratifying things are the relationships you build with the people you are supporting because you have the opportunity to help people build up skills, become a part of their community, and watch them develop and grow. For people that haven't experienced it, it's very difficult to express how rewarding this opportunity is and how much not only you are helping to teach people but how much you are learning along the way. - Kate
