Football is continuing to redefine its apex in popularity in America. In the last few years, we've seen several upstart football leagues like the Alliance of American Football birthed and the XFL start/restart before merging into the United Football League (UFL) as of this year.

This year, even Waterloo got their own football team, the Iowa Woo, one of four in the newly formed Arena League. Finally, at last, Dubuque is getting a football team of its own, and as of last week, the newly formed squad is now part of an official league headquartered in Pennsylvania.
