When you live in the Midwest, there's always the possibility that weather will throw you a surprise on or around Thanksgiving. One of the Farmer's Almanacs has just shared their prediction for what the Land of Lincoln can expect once we get to the season when all the turkeys are nervous.

I was surprised to see the "Old" Farmer's Almanac just share their prediction for Thanksgiving, but then realized we're only a couple months away from November. Time flies when you're having fun.

What does Old Farmer's Almanac predict for Thanksgiving for Illinois specifically?

If their prediction is accurate, it looks pretty glorious actually. Check out their neato map.

The Old Farmer's Almanac says "mostly warmer-than-normal temperatures from the Upper Midwest through the Heartland all the way to Texas and Oklahoma".  It's worth noting that Illinois is kind of on the bubble between the area where it will be cool versus mild. Here's my own 2 cents. In northern Illinois, prepare for anything and everything thanks to lake effect weather. In southern Illinois, get out the tank tops and enjoy warmer than average weather.

It's not unusual for parts of Illinois to see snow prior to Thanksgiving although December is normally the first month to have any kind of regular snowfall.

Time will tell the tale if the Old Farmer's Almanac is right or if Illinois gets a Thanksgiving surprise.
