If you live in Illinois, you will see snow. That's one of life's guarantees, but some places in the state get more snowfall than others. The top 20 list based on averages has some surprises in it.

I decided to query the database at USA.com to find out the Illinois average snow ranking for different places around the state. #1 is a place you probably haven't heard of, but it makes a lot of sense that it would receive more snow than any other part of Illinois.

Russell, Illinois is so close to Wisconsin, you could practically throw a snowball over the border from one of the homes there. It's also very close to Lake Michigan which means lake effect snowfall in bunches.
