The Fall 2023 safety grades have been released for all the hospitals in Illinois, and there were tons of A grades, but 8 hospitals in the Land of Lincoln received a dreaded D grade...which hospitals should you avoid in Illinois?

According to Hospital Safety Grade, 8 hospitals in Illinois received a D grade on their 2023 Fall Safety report. Out of the 109 hospitals in the state that were graded 27 of the hospitals were graded A, including Blessing Hospital here in Quincy, 24 hospitals were graded B, including McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, and just over 50 hospitals were graded C.

So which hospitals received the dreaded D grading? Well, the good news is you can get graded an F and we didn't have any F grades in Illinois, but the hospitals that got D grades were.

Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL

Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago, IL

Community First Medical Center in Chicago, IL

SIH Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL

Thorek Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL
